Thank You Body, For All You Do!
Winter 2024 Issue
By Rachel McDonald
Our bodies change as we grow older. It’s all too easy to get hung up on what we might see as the negatives of this process, so it’s important to take the time to appreciate the wonderful things our bodies do for us every day.
Your arms may allow you to carry important things, cook, reach for objects you want, hug your loved ones, and so much more. Thank you, arms!
Your hands may allow you to play music, clap and snap, give high-fives, write, feel your favorite textures, hold a book, and so much more. Thank you, hands!
Your legs and feet may allow you to walk around, dance or tap your toes to a great song, stand and sit, provide a lap for your furry friends, and so much more. Thank you, legs!
Your face has so many helpful functions. Your eyes may help you to see the people you love, watch movies, and enjoy beautiful views and sunrises and sunsets. Your nose may let you smell flowers, the beach, and your beloved’s perfume or cologne, and your mouth may allow you to eat delicious food, smile at your friends, and kiss loved ones. Thank you, face!
Let’s celebrate the resilience and adaptability of our bodies by practicing gratitude for all that our bodies are capable of, no matter their shape, size, or age!
