Peer Counseling Volunteers
Every day, our peer counseling volunteers are making a difference in a senior’s life.
Volunteers offer emotional support, guidance, and empathy to seniors who are facing stress due to illness, loss of spouse or friends, isolation from family and friends, or other life transitions. When you become a peer counselor, you not only get to help seniors in need, you join a welcoming community of 30+ amazing volunteers who are helping support seniors in our community, while growing and learning as well!
No prior counseling experience is necessary! All our volunteers participate in an 8-week training with our Clinical Director Gary Linker, who has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
After participating in our training, peer counselors are assigned individual clients or partnered up with another peer counselor to co-lead a support group.
Our next 8-week training will be held on Wednesdays from 1 - 2:30 beginning November 1, 2023. The training fee is $150 and scholarships are available.
Plus, our volunteers continue to learn and grow via weekly supervision meetings held with fellow peer counselors.

CareLine Volunteers
As part of our CareLine program, every day our volunteers call and check on the safety and well being of seniors in our community who are often homebound or have limited social interactions.
Calls provide a reassuring voice each day.
Each call lasts about 5-15 minutes.
Volunteers receive ongoing guidance.
If you have time to give 5-10 hours a week, please consider being a CareLine volunteer and contact us today!
Other Ways to Get Involved
We always have projects that we need assistance with, including helping in our office, distributing our newspaper, reaching out to advertisers for our quarterly newspaper, or assisting with our fundraising initiatives. Contact us today if you’d like to volunteer and support our efforts!
