Get By with A Little Help From…CSA Support Groups!
Fall 2024 Issue
The Center for Successful Aging offers 14 groups each month to seniors in our community. Some groups focus on supporting caregivers specifically and others are general support groups. All groups are co-led by our trained volunteers, are free and open to any senior, 50 years and older. Support groups are open to anyone caring for a senior. If you are interested in joining a group, call the Center's Clinical Director, Gary Linker, at 805- 898-8080 to schedule an initial interview. Here is a sampling of the current groups we provide:
Caregiver's Support Group- Held at Vista Del Monte- 10-11:30 each Wednesday. Led by Sara and Jordan
Zoom group- For Caregiver's- 2nd and 4th Monday 5-6:30- Led by Karen and John
4- Different Parkinson's Caregiver’s Support Groups-Two in-person; two on Zoom. Led by Peggy, Jayne, Diane, Karen, May
Connecting to Life with Joy and Hope. One group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and is led by Kerin/John, 1-2:30. The other group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday-Deni/Kerin, 1-2:30
General Support Group- Held at Friendship Manor-Mondays 9-10 a.m.-Led by Laurette and John
General Support Group-Held at Villa La Cumbre- Wednesdays 1:30-2:30- Led by Laurette and John
General Support Group-Held via Zoom for residents of Encina Royale and other senior communities-First Wednesday, 3-4. Led by Judi
Death Cafe- A support group for those wanting to discuss issues of death and dying-Meets every 3 weeks- Led by Liz
