Support Groups

CareLine, CSA’s Telephone Reassurance Program
CSA cares about its seniors especially those who are home bound. Senior volunteers who have participated in a special orientation/training are available to place short check-in calls to any adult over the age of 50 who may be homebound or isolated, and who might appreciate a call from someone of their own generation.

To join this program, you can call the center yourself at 898-8080 or refer someone to the program and we will call them. Participants are usually referred by family, friends, social workers, discharge planners, clergy, and other organizations serving the needs of seniors in Santa Barbara.

Target clients include those who may not have friends or family nearby, people who may not be able to get out of the house easily, or those who would benefit from knowing that someone in the community cares about their well-being.

If you are interested in receiving a CareLine call please contact our Executive Director Dr. Gary Linker at (805) 898-8080.
On-Going Support Groups
Group Counseling

CSA has several groups for seniors wanting to share experiences, get support or seek the guidance of other seniors in pursuing their individual endeavors.

CSA support groups are co-led by trained and supervised volunteer group facilitators. Although some of the groups are held in residential communities, most are open to the community. All support groups are free of charge. If you are interested in joining one of these groups, please call the Center’s director, Dr. Gary Linker to complete an application.
